Meet Vanilla Bean

This is what has consumed me, and school of coarse, and this is why I have been lagging on posts.
Meet my car, Vanilla bean. She is a 1968 vw Bug and is what I like to call my hunk of junk. She is mine though all mine! And is my first car. I have wanted a bug since I was about 7. My dads friend, "earthquake" had some on his property and they were so cool to me so I made it my goal to own one. Give me a year and my baby will be beautiful!

So far I have done most of the work on her by myself with only a few helping hands. This last weekend I changed the swing axle boots by myself, which was fun, greasy, and easier than I thought.
 Interior
Engine after we added  preheater tubes, breastplate, air filter (PO was an idiot), tube from oil filler to air filter. Whew, think that's it. Than I discover one morning as I am boppin down the road, that the heads are shot and have been cheaply repaired, So I have to check that once a week.
Blinkers don't work, there are rusty holes in the ground and she needs paint, But she is mine! I love working on her, because it is easy and cheap. At first I thought I bought a POS and I did but its my little project car. An adventure and I can do most of the work myself. Next fix, weld holy floor pan. SO her she is, my hunk of junk.
Oh did I mention I had a massive gas leak. Previous owners suck!.

The Invisible Children.

When I was a freshmen in High School I saw a Movie called The Invisible children. The entire movie was made by three guys who wanted to show people like you and I what was going on in Africa. There is a war going on that has been for 17 years. Every time I re-watch the movie and it breaks my heart. There are thousands of children that hide each night in fear that they will get abducted and forced to fight a bloody war. They are threatened and starved and even killed because crying is not allowed in the Rebel Army. The African government does nothing to change the terror. There is a part at the end of the movie. The narrator says people of American have said not to compare our streets to the streets of Africa. I don't understand how America became so selfish or ignorant. When I was a junior in high school my art class dedicated a show to Darfur and the Invisible Children. I remember fighting with my step mom over my project. I wanted to make a mosaic with images of the children in the shape of a gun. She forbid it, said it was to violent, I got so mad. I nineteen can not tell you how to take the safety off a gun and children at the age of five in Africa can load, cock, and kill someone with a gun. I ended up doing the same project but made it a skull and cross bones. My teacher too, was upset that I was not allowed to make the original piece of art. Nate Henn a member of the organization died July 11 of this year. If you would like to read about this wonderful man click here.  I one day am determined to live a life like his. Dedicated to helping the unheard. I hope this movie moves you the way it has me. Note: this movie is not for the weak, I do not own any of the videos.  We Americans complain, but we forget how truly blessed we are.  Each movie below is in order 1-6 and is about 40 minutes together, I hope you watch it.

Mayhem Fest Devore

Note : Click on pics to get up close.
Okay! So do I have some news for you! I went to Mayhem fest in Devore this last Saturday. And to say the least it was Fucking amazing! First things first! I met one of my favorite bands In This Moment. They were all so nice. I'm glad it wasn't one of those horror stories where the band is a real jerk, thankfully I only have good things to say about them. Oh and I got their autographs on their new CD A Star-crossed wasteland. Which also is super rad. I had to burn a separate copy to listen too since I don't want to ruin the signature, ha ha. I showed up as soon as In This moment started to play, she sounded amazing live. The crowd was wild, except one punker chick that decided to puke right in front of me, gross. Some one tell these youngins drugs, booze, and hundred degree weather don't mix well.

Next off We avoided FFDP Because no one I was with cared for them.

Then came Lamb Of God. Another of my favorites did a good show, but I think they could have done way better.  They had a massive pit in which I got an entire beer spilled over my head. I didn't drink and I probably reeked of booze more than the drunk guy. Then I had to shove through ignorant asshole to relocate my bf. If I were a guy I would have gotten my ass kicked, thankfully I'm not.

Next up legendary Rob Zombie! He rocked my world man, it was insane! He stole the show, his sound was just like his record and he had these massive screens that he played parts of his movies and munster clips. There was a giant dancing robot and Robs hair mimicked the octopus guy from Pirates of the Caribbean.
John Five shreaded it up Oh!. Speaking of John five, we get off the freeway and are heading towards parking and we see this huge bus, so naturally we speed up. We look over and look who it is! John Five driving his nice ass car, We all go crazy and he kinda waves at us like Yeah, I am who I am. Ha ha. It was fun. Here is
a crappy picture I took from my phone, See Giant Robot!

Finally, Korn. I wasn't to excited for them because I don't care for their new stuff but they did pretty good. They played a lot of their old stuff and since all of us were too tired we snagged a spot against the rails in lawn and just watched. Davis played he bag pipes and we all sang to the songs. The pits all night were crazy and included fire shirts. My bf even got burnt from a cigarette, Ouch! All in all it was such a great day :)

Oh! there were also dancing umpa lumpas, an old man that kept dancing and flipping everyone off haha. :) And a lizard. :)
For more of my personal pictures go here. I worn you some of them suck haha.

I bought him a silvery glitter collar with a pink name tag with my number on it,( never let me determine a cats sex) we got to see it being engraved! It was so rad. We bought him kitten food, toys, a scratcher, liter box ect. I love him he's so mellow. He loves to be surrounded  by fluff. I love him already :)

My look at it.

After watching Esotsm, ha ha, I loved it! I was waiting for the eclipse to come out, which it never did, boo! So I decided to watch this to pass the time. After waiting an hour and a half of confusing little pieces, the director put the puzzle together for me. It wassssssssss Brilliant! The movie is about Jim carry and his girlfriend Clementine. Clementine is a sporadic and spontaneous girl that enjoys a drink or two. She decides Jim is not for her and Spontaneously decides to have him erased from her mind. When Jim finds out, he goes to have to same procedure but as it is getting done he decides that he still wants to be with her. So he takes the Clementine from his memories into other memories to try and hide her from what will be erased. It is a weird movie in the beginning because you are lost but when You realize it is a story of a couple that no longer love one another and how it got that way, it makes you take a look at your own life. I give this movie an easy 4 stars and I highly recommend it.
AND Now that I have seen Clementine, a hair dye junkie, and I am a recovering junkie, want to dye my hair.
No natural colors please, but wash out. I am a student and should have some fun :) I was thinking red but it washes out fast. Pink, blue, purple, no yellow. Green, Orange?
I love her hair here, I am growing mine out. :) You guys tell me. :) Oh I forgot, There are not special effects in the movie, believe it or not. I watched the behind the scenes and I think Micheal Gondry is a new favorite director of mine. He is a brilliant french man ;)

No subject

I have been thinking for sometime now. What about? I don't know. Life. How I had a stroke a year ago and survived, but the mother with three children is paralized and has to be spoon fed. How god has to have some great plan for me or he would have let me die along time ago. When I was at my lowest he could have watch me let myself go, he didn't though. I am spilling my guts out and if you have mean things to say, prepare to be ignore.
I would like to think of myself as a good person. I give when I can, try and make the best decision and say I am wrong when I am. But I can not help but feel useless. I am a tiny ant and my achievements are on the bottom of the charts. I just want to help people. If I could give all of my cloths to the kids that freeze at night I would. I wish I could go to a third world country, because I have it easy man. I really do. I have never gone hungry, always had cloths and shoes, and usually get luxuries like a cell phone or this very lap top. But what is it all for? An image? I wish my life meant more to me. I wish I went to bed excited for tomorrow. I don't and I should.

Jeans to skirt

After many sews ans seam rips trying to take my jeans in I said forget it! And made a jean skirt. The jeans are originally from pacsun but I don't car for their jeans, they don't fit me well and a loose in all the wrong places. The thighs were to loose and the ass saged after a veiw hours. It is sad my favorite jeans are from wet seal but they discontinued the style... Okay so anyway :)First things first. Get your handy dandy seam ripper and rip the seams of the inner leg all the way from ankle to crotch. Next rip from crop to bottom of zipper, NOT THE TOP. Then rip from crotch to the bottom of the belt loop..  .

Open your pants up and make them look like this:
Now pin it. I made my skirt long, then put it on marked how short I wanted it then cut it shorter but the choice is yoursNow sew along the pins, remember to leave a seam allowance. * There is a funky little trianlge that sticks out in the front. You can see it in the picture. When sewing there exclude it just make a straight line, if you follow the triangle you will look like you have a micro penis. Okay so sew the sides up. put it on and mark how short you want it. Take off cut at place and sew.
Walla!
Note: If your skirt is to big and you need to take it in, when ripping up the back cut all the way up, take into desire sew, excluding belt loop area, Then open skirt over lap the belt loop area, sew, cover new seem with belt loop. I know this is hard to understand so feel free to ask questions.

Reviving ones self

I have been watching a few shows here and there and I can not help but be digusted by the crap we are told. Be a size zero, be fake, party ( because parties are cool) and if drugs are offered its cool. Well Here's my opinion, If your weigh doesn't affect your health, Love it. DO not be fake under any circumstance. I would like to think of my self as a good person but when I try to fit in I can't. I have difficulty making friends because rather then buying a bottle to get f*cked up I would rather by a book or save the money to meet the stranger I'll share cookies with. Don't get me wrong a good party every now and then can be alot of fun but my goal is not to do it every weekend. I guess what I am trying to say, is the same cliche crap everyone. All I expect for people to do is love yourself. Look in the mirror when you are sad a laugh, you will feel stupid, I promise, but in the end it will help. If you want to wear bright pink pants with a panda shirt, slippers and big hair, you may look silly but do it! Stop worring about all the goons in this life time. You will never get any time back, NEVER! So make what you have last. Stop worring about getting embarrest when you get caught sing in the car and most of all forget the people that drag you down. Flip them the bird! Finally, never loose your childish enthusiam. With that one key ingredient you will get any where. I want to thank all of you that read this blog. I have feared rejection, hate, and being a loner, but I have been working on myself. This blog gives me something to wake up for, sounds lame, but when you get deppressed having that one comment that says "Hey, I agree" makes me feel a little less lonly. Love all of you.
Megs.

The new flip!

Here is me messing around. Its lame but it was fun!

How to impress a room full of hungry ones.

 Picture and Recipe supplied by

Ingredients:

  • Juice and zest of 1 large lemon (3 tablespoons juice)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 bone-in chicken breast halves, skin on (about 2-1/4 pounds)
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°. Line a baking sheet with foil. In a medium bowl, whisk together the lemon juice and zest, honey, garlic, cumin, oregano and 1/2 cup of the olive oil. Place the chicken breasts in a glass dish that holds them snugly in a single layer and add the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator, turning over the chicken occasionally.

  2. Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Pat the chicken dry, season with salt and pepper and place, skin side down, in the skillet. Cook until the skin is browned and crisp, about 5 minutes. Transfer the chicken, skin side up, to the prepared baking sheet. Bake until cooked through and the juices run clear, about 20 minutes.

Okay this recipe calls for chicken breast but I made it with Party wings. Your guest or family can choose their portions easily and it adds a little fun to the eating process. Who doesn't like to eat with there hands :)

Then I served this as a side: Which came from Here.

    Lemony Green Onion Rice
    ¾ c uncooked instant rice
    1/3 c chopped celery
    1/3 c chopped green onions
2 tsp butter or olive oil
½ to 1 tsp grated lemon peel
    ¼ tsp salt
    Dash pepper

Cook rice according to package directions. In a small skillet, saute celery and onions in butter or olive oil over medium heat until tender. Stir in the rice, lemon peel, salt and pepper.

Then :) with this I served biscuits and a salad. The dinner was great and was a big hit. Not to toot my horn but toot toot :)
    Strawberries and summer nights,

The older flip

Pic from these guys
Hello you guys! Sorry it has been way to long :) Okay so I recently got the little guy up above. It is an older flip but still really impresses me. It takes about 30 mins of video which is pretty impressive for something that fits into my purse. The color is pretty vivid too. I want to make a video to show you guys but am not sure what to shoot so throw suggestions out there and I will be sure to fulfill you requests. The only thing that this little guy doesn't do is hold an sd card which saddens me but I will get over it "). Okay I will be posting much more today but for now.
Strawberries and Summer nights,
Megs
P.S. I want a cover for it because the little fella is a bit beat up.

I found this beautiful

George William Russell (1867–1935), an Irish writer who described his mystical experiences
under the pen name “AE,” was lying on a hillside:
not then thinking of anything but the sunlight, and how sweet it was to drowse
there, when, suddenly, I felt a fiery heart throb, and knew it was personal and
intimate, and started with every sense dilated and intent, and turned inwards, and
I heard first a music as of bells going away . . . and then the heart of the hills was
opened to me, and I knew there was no hill for those who were there, and they
were unconscious of the ponderous mountain piled above the palaces of light, and
the winds were sparkling and diamond clear, yet full of colour as an opal, as they
glittered through the valley, and I knew the Golden Age was all about me, and it
was we who had been blind to it but that it had never passed away from the
world.

We all only live once.

I had a long talk with my dad today and he said this," Live life the way you want your obituary to be read." I am a free spirit. I do not look at what I am leaving behind when I move somewhere I look to what I am going to discover. People always get sad about leaving family, which is a bit of a bummer but it is okay. I want to see the world, meet interesting strangers, and give someone my last five bucks because they need it more than I do. I want to be known as a fun, loving, generous, kind soul when I leave this earth. I do not want to wish I would of done something. It can be hard to break out from our shell but it can be good for the soul. Most of all don't worry about other when making your decisions, unless it is a wife or child. The only person to know what is going to make a life worth while is yourself. I do not know about you but I have been at my lowest. I didn't having anything to wake up for or to inspire me and I do not want to go through that again. What makes your heart soar? What do you wake up for in the morning?

Mini Glamour doll haul

I recently heard of Glamour Doll eyes cosmetics. They have a small but very eclectic online store of eye shadows and also a line of lip glosses. I decide that no matter how many tutorial, hauls, or reviews I watched I would never know if I liked them myself. So I ordered a few samples to test them out. I have yet to use them but I will Soon enough.

These are the colors i choose to test. I swatched them and they are all really beautiful but I can tell glow stick and techno will kick my butt because I do not know how to work with glitter. yet.

This is how they look on skin:
From left to right:
Glow stick, Grease lightning, Techno, Hello Brooklyn, Secretive, Brown eyed girl, Chocoholic, and Hot mess.
The colors are very vibrant which I love and they go on very smooth.

If you love these vibrant shades and want some of your own Click here. If you have some which ones? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Whimsical Wednesday

Today was an amazing day.

I watched the fourth kind,
Oh btw I am in love with the movie "About last night", if you haven't seen it, rent it, if you have what do you think of it? I went flower picking to get scenery for the new butterflies in my besties life.
All three of us made an incredible dinner of spaghetti, salad and jasmine tea. Thank you guys!. I polished off the night with some good ol' studying and vanilla raspberry bars, my new favorite.

Finals suck, do you agree? :)

My great week.

Pei Wei is an Asian restaurant in Huntington beach that some friends of mine took me too. We ordered honey braised chicken and mandarin beef with white and fried rice. I was so excited that I ate everything before I took pictures of it. Oops haha. It was truly amazing though. I love the fried rice, its not all gross with rubber egg in it like other places. I give this place a 7.They also took me to see Robin Hood where I fell in love with Kevin Durands character. Goodness he gives me chills, so sexy, Sorry Babe ;). All in all great night and I thank these guys: Love you two!

How was your weekend?

The party that ended all too wrong.

My Saturday started very well. I indulged in crispy pancakes, just the way I like em and packed to go to my best friends house. Our plan for the night was to celebrate my boyfriends birthday with whiskey sours, the jacuzzi and loving friends. Well my brother and a friend came along. Tom is know for obnoxious activity when he becomes drunk, in this cases pissing on my friends parents couch. It was not the night we planned for.
Sad part is he was a proud pisser...

My Love List
A love list is all of the things that I currently could not go without.
Okay lets get started!

I love my new Colorstay liquid liner by Revlon. Its the most perfect thing in my world. It never gets flaky or darkens my crease. I also have a tendency to rub the sides of my eyes and with this my wing stays right in place and as dark as ever!

Second things on my love list is Clean and Clear
Continuous Control Acne Cleanser. Its main
ingredient is Benzoyl Peroxide and it totally
kicks my blemishes ass. If you guys know a
good scar reducer let me know. I am thinking
of trying the new product by clinic but I'll have
to save my pennies. :)
3. I went to warp tour in 2008 and stumbled upon a lost camera.
Yes I took that camera with me and it has become one
of my best friends. It is an older Coolpix but it still takes awesome pictures
and I keep it in my purse all the time.I try and catch cool
or funny things but sometimes I am to slow haha.
4. My nevea lip balm. Its pretty awesome.
5.Stash tea. its really good tea that is really cheap.
6.My new jeans I got them for 9.90 and they hug all the right places. My boyfriend says that my ass looks edible in them.( In a good way)

I am looking for a good moisturizing foundation.I have dry skin that likes to break out when I put oily stuff on it so if you know a good foundation post it below.  I am thinking of trying this:
Piggy's and hippos!
Leave a comment with your love list!

This is my little guy, gone but not forgotten.

This is juicebox. He was adopted by me and my boyfriend two years ago. He past away last night in his sleep. I am really bummed that he's gone. His brother past away last october. It's weird not to have to worry about my little guys anymore. I don't know if I'll be getting another hamster because no hamster can replace juice box or little wing. I buried my little guy under a rose bush and made a cross of stone over his grave. I hope he liked me as a mama.
